Hi all
Well ive thanked the dr’s and nurses for saving my life and now it’s time to thank the insurance company. I have harvard pilgrim and they have been outstanding in my coverage!!! I worked for wear guard 8 years ago and got harvard pilgrim from them when i left i took the individual plan with me. With my job delivering furniture i was paid as a sub contractor so i basically worked for myself and i could write off my health insurance on my taxes which was great. When i left wear guard my monthly premium was 300 a month now it is 717 a month there were times i’d see an increase and say i never use it just for my asthma spray and the yearly physical but my better half would always say you need insurance in case something happens or your in a car accident and at the time i could afford it so i kept it and thank god i did!!! I will never complain about the price i pay again.
I mean i had never been sick was 42 and then i got aplastic anemia and the normal life i had changed bigtime. I went from a good paycheck to 1028 a month in ssd benefits since i could not work with my counts failing and the year of being careful wearing mask and gloves not being able to go in stores or shop because of viruses and bacteria and other things that my new immune system might not be able to fight off thus endangering my life and after 5 months and 1 week now i’m not going to do anything stupid to push my luck.
My monthly pill total is 6221.64 with harvard pilgrim i pay 25 dollar deductables for the most expensive 20 for the rest thank god 1 prescription of 60 pills (1 month supply i take 2 a day) is 2440 dollars. I can’t possibly fathom what a bone marrow stem cell transplant costs with all the hospital time and medication they give you to live thru it factored in but i immagine it’s huge!!!!!
I never had a problem with Harvard Pilgrim covering anything or paying for any prescription except for 1 prescription that was a new drug and my Dr. had to call to get autherization for it but other than that Harvard Pilgrim has covered my back thru out this long difficult and scary journey.
Things happen to people all the time you can’t think it can’t happen to you you could have what i had or cancer or another terrible disease or even be in a car crash that leaves you parylized and destroys the life you know from earning your paycheck (believe me i know)to relying on people to get things for you. Your life can change in an instant and you need insurance to help you when these things happen. If i did’nt have insurance what would i do? I’d have to file bankruptcy or something or if i was single and did’nt have my wife to take care of me and work her full time job to survive life i’d be screwed! And this happens to people every day so please if you don’t have insurance please think about getting it it may be another bill that you don’t need but when you need it like i did you’ll say it was the best decision you made getting it. 6 months and 3 weeks to go for a year yay!!!!! It’s tough not being able to go out to eat or go into a store and shop and days can be boring but it’s not going to be like this forever
I wish everyone the best i wish the patriots started playing tommorow can you say MONSTER team?? sure you can i predict 16-0 bill belecheks done everything but that and the way he’s built this years team it could happen Moss is gonna be awesome!!
